Danette Johnson

Danette is a HR talent management leader, public speaker, and practitioner with expertise in building employee culture through customized engagement programming. She also focuses on leadership development, behavioral assessment, and executive coaching. She believes in transferring leadership capability in customized, practical ways across all levels to boost engagement and organizational performance. Danette also advises clients on how to best incorporate inclusion & equity practices into company culture in a natural, sustainable way.
Demonstrating an innate bias for action, Danette has spent the last 25 years cultivating strong internal and external client relationships primarily in the entertainment industry embedded within TNT, TBS, CNN, Turner Sports, Cartoon Network brands. More recently, she has engaged with companies across various non-profit, real estate, healthcare and technology sectors.
Prior to launching People Culture, Danette had a successful 23-year career at Turner Broadcasting (Warner Bros. Discovery) most recently serving as Vice President of HR overseeing learning, organizational development, and DE&I efforts. She holds a mass communications degree from Towson University outside Baltimore, MD and has since earned organizational development executive certification from the National Training Laboratory (NTL), multiple coaching and diversity accreditations from the likes of Korn Ferry, Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), Hogan, Sherpa and the Human Performance Institute (HPI). She’s recently relocated to Greenville, SC with her wife and (far too many) pets, hoping to soak in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains on a regular basis.
